Privacy Policy

Purpose

Owen Vault Sync is a private, single-user Obsidian plugin used by its owner to synchronize selected vault files through Google Drive.

Google user data

The app uses the Google Drive drive.file scope. Access is limited to files and folders created or explicitly opened by the app. The app reads file metadata and content and may create, update, move, or trash those files to perform synchronization.

Storage and sharing

Vault files remain in the owner's local Obsidian vaults and Google Drive. OAuth credentials, refresh tokens, file identifiers, and sync state are stored locally on the owner's devices. The app has no separate backend and does not sell, share, or transfer Google user data to third parties.

Retention and deletion

Data remains until the owner deletes it from the local vault or Google Drive. The owner can disconnect the plugin and revoke Google access at any time from the Google Account permissions page.

Security

The app uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE, requests the narrowest practical Drive scope, excludes credential and configuration files from synchronization, and preserves conflicting copies rather than silently overwriting them.
